Makes: 4 servings


  • In a bowl, combine first three ingredients.
  • Form mixture into four patties.
  • Grill over medium-high heat with lid closed for 4 minutes each side, or until an instant-read thermometer indicates a Food Safe internal temperature of 160° F (70° C).
  • Top patties with cheese to melt during last minutes of cooking.
  • Place on bottom halves of buns, then divide sauce over top. Add toppings and top of buns and serve.



Make it vegetarian:
Purée 1 egg, 2 Portobello mushrooms, and 4 C (1 L) black beans to press into patties in place of the ground beef.
